Just in case there is ever any
confusion, this is THE Rob Rosen. Not to be
confused with that other Rob Rosen character. Our Rob
Rosen is a first-time gay novelist whose first book
"Sparkle" is now available online from all the major
booksellers including Barnes
& Noble. From what we can tell, thankfully,
"Sparkle" is in no way related to "Glitter" (you
know, that awful Mariah movie!) Drop by, check out Rob's links,
bio and the synopsis for his book. Then order the "queerest
book you'll ever love"!
No, it's not a tutti-frutti sundae
but five days of camping and "floating" along the Niangua
River in Missouri. Hence, Pride
Float. Get it? Tee hee.
While we were annoyed by the hillbilly music, which is not only
irritating in its own right but also causes the pages to load slowly,
the Pride
Float web does what it sets out
to do - get you interested in joining a bunch of other fags and dykes
on an outdoor adventure. Now can we all say "squeal like a
pig?".
Much has been written about the men
and women who died in the September 11th tragedies in New York,
Washington and Pennsylvania. The Gay
Victims and Heroes of these tragedies
are remembered in this very touching website.
Every so often we come across a
website that is true eye-candy. Beach
Cities Bears is one such web.
Obviously a lot of time has gone into producing this site for this
Southern California bear club. The Flash plug-in is a must but
well worth the visit!
The fight for same-sex marriage in
Canada continues online with Free2Marry.
A great collection of articles on the same-sex marriage question plus
other online resources makes this site a worthwhile visit.
"My Mommies Rule"
and "My Daddies Rock" are just two of the t-shirts
available for purchase on the Mystic
Women web site. Stacey
& Jessie bring us messages of pride for today's families.
Sometimes religion can be an oxymoron
within the gay community. However, webmaster Justin McBride has
put together
About
Spirituality for Gays and Lesbians a place for gays and
lesbians to seek spirituality within their lives. A nice place
to contemplate the role of "god" in our lives.
Based in Tel Aviv, Pridepage
is full of interesting information that goes well beyond Israel.
A lofty goal of "uniting the queer community with the rest of the
world", Pridepage
is certainly trying! Politics, fetishes, health and news from
the Middle East and around the world, it is an excellent site viewed
from a different perspective.
GayLife
UK provides comprehensive listings of
gay pubs, clubs, hotels, B&Bs, sauna, help-lines and support
groups in the United Kingdom. The site also provides e-cards,
free for all links, top 50 sites, awards, personals, and an online
mall. A great resource for visitors and residents alike.
Dave
and Rob are a couple of gay guys living in Swindon, England.
For the voyeur in all of us, you can find out everything about Dave
and Rob, their friends, hobbies, interests and even their pets. And
you can even see how you score against Dave and Rob in the
"Straight Acting" quiz. We can't wait for the webcam!
Can't
Think STR8! is a non-pornographic,
non-commercial site for young gay guys made by young gay guys. It
contains real life stories, poetry, advice, a chat room, a
message board and a whole lot of useful links!
What's a Echidna? Ever wondered
what a platypus really looks like? Want to take a tour of
Australia's national parks from the comfort of your computer?
Dave is a 20 year old living in
Sheffield, UK. His site covers everything from gay marriage to
coming out to school life. All from a young person's
perspective. Dave:
An Uk Gay Youth is definitely
worth a visit not only by other youth but by the gay community at
large for a better perspective on what it is like to be gay and
young in today's world.
Great design, easy to navigate and
absolutely everything you wanted to know about what's up in the gay
community in Windsor, Ontario. Gay
Windsor is definitely worth a visit if you're planning a trip
to that area or are already a resident!
Rin's
Answerz provides free individual answers
to questions from gay, lesbian, bisexual and curious teenagers on
subjects including coming out, relationships, dating, safer sex and
religion. We liked what Rin had to say but the big question is
who the heck is Rin and why is he/she handing out advice?
wayoutwest.tv
is a new entertainment site that will bring all-original programming,
straight from Vancouver, B.C.’s independent filmmaking community, to
the internet. wayoutwest.tv's
first series, West of Denman,
is a twenty-something drama made up of mini- episodic segments.
Gay-themed West of Denman tells the story of Brandon
who has left his small farming hometown to find something better in
the big city.
Okay, okay, we admit it. Landover
Baptist Church is probably not the best choice for our
award but lordy, lordy, it is funny! It's satire people!
Remember that! We've said it in the past and we're sure of it
now - we at GayVancouver.Net are going to rot in hell.
Sparkey's
Home Page is a little look at what can happen to a city boy
that has been sent out into one of Australia's harshest areas: the
outback of Queensland. Produced with a definite sense of humour,
find out what is like to be a gay man in a land of "roo and pig
shoots". Be warned though, some of the pages are so
"busy" they could send you into an epileptic fit!
Dyke
Write is dedicated to women and
writing, features original poetry and short stories. Not only a
very well-designed web site, we simply could not resist recognizing
something described to us as "a hot n feisty dyke site".
Harpo, Groucho, Pee Wee, Richard
Simmons - just a small list of impersonations by Nick
Tarr. We're still trying to figure out where the 602
area code is because we're sure Nick would be a great friend to have
(although we wouldn't want to meet Sherriff Arpaio in a dark alley!)
Shopping, bars, travel, circuit
parties, links and lots, lots more. A very USA-centric focus The
G Network does contain limited information in Canada
(including Altitude 2001 in Whistler) and elsewhere around the world.
The listing of bars across the USA alone is worth the visit (assuming
that it is up-to-date).
one
lone heron provides resources for
HIV/AIDS, human rights resources and info for the Atlantic queer
community. The author of this web, Terry Goodwin, tells us why
he created his web under his banner "because"; be sure to
check it out as it will resound with almost all of us! An
excellent resource with a simple, appealing design it is well worth a
visit.
Rob's
Gay Place features his "ABC
of gay, lesbian and bisexual people". An extremely
informative website - check out the listings of gays, lesbians and
bisexuals through history (some you know others you won't). This
is one of the most interesting personal pages we have found in a
longtime and is definitely worth a look!
Gay
Poetry Online, a non-commercial site, is a great place to find
poetry for, about and by the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered
(and even some straight) communities. The site not only
showcases work by the various communities but actively solicits poets
to contribute. A great place to hang-out for a while and an even
better venue for those with something to say!
Queer
as You Want to Be is a site for queer youth, and is
proud of its resistance to featuring personals, porn, or pic trading.
The site has links, chat, message boards, original poetry, rantz,
quotes, shopping, and much more!
Dyke
Universe is a non-commercial website, providing information,
advice and fun for the lesbian community. It is a lively site
with a huge amount of information including everything from dyke radio
to television divas and anything in between. The team that puts
this site together obviously spends a lot of time on the content!
