So indulge us a bit as we track Santa across the globe!

During this holiday season we thought we would share with you one of our favourite charities in Vancouver - the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.  Providing food vouchers and toys for low income families in Vancouver the Christmas Bureau has been helping families since 1930.

QueerFM is a webcast radio station operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from Australia to a world-wide audience.  Not only does this internet station stream mainstream music it also takes great pride in presenting new and upcoming GLBT music talent from around the world.

We had never heard of Charlie David until someone sent us the nomination for Charlie's Cove and after visiting the website we wonder what rock we've been living under!  One of the stars of the gay soap opera, Dante's Cove, Charlie David is one of the few out actors in Hollywood and not bad on the eyes either!

Other than my friend Rick's travel blog (he's traipsing around Europe right now) there are few other blogs that I have come across worth reading.  However, after taking a look at Come Into My World this will definitely be one more addition to my list of daily "must-sees" on the net.

Planning a trip to the UK?  Looking for information on the Blackpool gay scene?  Gayzout is your online resource for everything gay in Blackpool!  Events, jobs, bars and more - well worth a visit for planning your trip!

That's FLAGGING people - not flogging!  Get your minds out of the gutter!  Flagmania - South Australian Gay Men's Flagging Troupe is an Adelaide, Australia based group of men who are taking Australia by storm through the art of flagging.

What do Trixie, Milla and Evil Lynn all have in common?  They are the alter-egos of Tranny Force members Jeffi, Dino and Donovan who are out to protect the world's glamour from too much eye-shadow and high hair.

From Coronation Street to drag shows, Roxy Hart has had a colourful and varied career.  Be sure to check out the "how to" section for your own next drag gig!

Always on the cutting edge, always irreverent and always queer-friendly, the Vancouver Fringe Festival continues to provide a venue for queer and straight to tell our stories in words, movement, song and maybe even a little whipped cream.  Hell, the festival guide photo is worth the price of admission to one show!  Check it out September 7th through 17th in and around Granville Island.

This week we salute the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and the countless volunteers that bring this world-class event to Vancouver each year!  Join us in Vancouver August 17th through 27th as we celebrate the best in queer filmmaking!

Our annual salute to the men and women who bring us Pride in Vancouver - the Vancouver Pride Society works tirelessly each year to ensure we can celebrate the diversity of our community and who we are!  Our thanks again this year for "Pride & Joy" running July 29th through August 6th.

Have you seen Frappr?  It is a great little website (well, probably not so little anymore) where people with similar interests join up and then you're all placed on a map so you can see where everyone is located.  Check out the vast list of LGBT Frappr maps.  For those not in the know "Frappr" is short for "Friends Mapper".

Alissa's Wonderland allows us a peak into the life of Alissa Wilts, a singer/songwriter from Winnipeg, who performs at various local coffee house events and dreams of one day touring coffee houses in other parts of Canada and the world.

A quick trip to Colorado on our trek featuring the gay bands around the world brings us to the Mile High Freedom Band in Denver.  Founded in 1984, the band has been making music throughout the Denver area area and beyond for over 21 years.

Now that we've featured a couple of the individual members of the Lesbian & Gay Band Association we thought it only suitable to highlight this organization itself.  From its beginnings in 1982 as the Lesbian & Gay Bands of America, the Association has grown to include 26 bands internationally including Vancouver's very own Rainbow Concert Band.

We love themes and this week we continue our recognition of the various LGBT bands across North America with the Church Street Pipe Band in Toronto.

Based in Portland, Oregon the Rose City Gay Freedom Band has been making music for fifteen years!  A marching band, a concert band and a swing band make up the organization which has played across North America.

Okay, we've said it before and we'll say it again we love drag queen websites.  And while Violet Dementia might not be the best drag site we've visited it certainly makes up for in fun!  We just wish we lived in Oklahoma as I'm sure Queen Kong will be a hoot!  BTW, be sure to take the dementia test (we're too embarrassed to say here how few answers we got right)!

This week starts off a series of awards going to various religious organizations serving the LGBT community in Vancouver.  This week we celebrate the work of the Rainbow Community Church.

Previous winners for 2006:It's hard to believe but the summer is quickly coming (no, really, it is!).  And we don't know of any better way to celebrate the summer season than with a cruise aboard one of the many CruiseyT offerings.  Celebrating it's 15th year this is a great way to spend time cruising on the sea and onboard!

Most of us know AIDS Vancouver and BCPWA but there are are a lot of organizations in other communities outside Vancouver that are tackling the tough issues including the Heart of Richmond AIDS Society.  Formed in 1997, this group has helped keep the awareness of HIV/AIDS in Richmond alive and supporting those in their community with HIV/AIDS who need their support.

Celebrating 15 years of everything rubber, Rubbout 15 takes place in Vancouver 7-9 April 2006.  This is a great chance to explore your kinkier side in a safe and friendly environment.  But beyond that, the site introduces you to a whole new world within our community and helps to make it a little less scary for some.

The gay and lesbian badminton club in Vancouver, Absolutely Badminton plays through the winter season (September through May).  The season may have already started but they do say to drop in and check for any openings.  A great way to spend a Wednesday evening!

Trying to make our streets and communities safer for the LGBT community, Safegay.ca offers resources and an online victim reporting tool.  But always remember - if you are in immediate danger call 911 first!

Do you like to go "au natural"?  Do you enjoy the freedom of no clothes?  if so, the Pacific Canadian Association of Nudists may be of interest!  Around for some 18 years this group provides an opportunity for gay and bisexual men to socialize naked together.

We love themes around here at GayVancouver.Net.  We started the year off with a few personal blogs and now we're moving into the arts!  I'm A Little Pickled Theatre Company is a local Vancouver theatre company specialising in queer theatre.  Be sure to check out the details of their 2006 season at the Havana Theatre on Commercial Drive!

The brainchild of local comedian David C. Jones, the Bob Loblaw Queer Comedy Troupe does gay improv for gay audiences.  Performing for a wide variety of queer (and not so queer) clients we particularly liked this site not because of its content but purely because of its uniqueness within the Vancouver gay community.

It's officially a trend - three personal homepages in a row!  This month's website is from Scott Bidstrup, a self-described American cowboy in exile.  We're certainly not ones to pass judgement on another's political views but some of Scott's writings and essays make for some interesting readin'...

Keeping our theme (so far) in 2006 we present another blog.  John Walden provides us with a little slice-of-life in Jefferson, Indiana.  Well laid out and a voyeur's paradise this is well worth a visit.

We love being internet voyeurs but it takes a long time to find the gems amongst the rocks.  The Dangerous Man is one such gem.  The diary of 20 year old Jay in Manchester the site not only looks good but is a fascinating blog of growing up gay in Manchester.  Well worth a visit.

A group for the gay and lesbian boating enthusiast, the Pacific Rim Yacht Club's members run the spectrum from the "old salt" to the complete novice.  The club organizes regular outings during their season but continue to meet during the winter as well.
